59 TREKKING APPOINTMENTS ALONG THE TREKS OF THE BOLOGNESE APENNINE AND BEYOND.
On the way again, treading the Bolognese paths through history, culture and Nature: Trekking by Train is back this year for its 27th edition, gathering numerous hiking passionates and offering many trekking appointments to discover the Bolognese Apennine (and other areas), under the banner of “slow” tourism and sustainable mobility.
The durable initiative, organised by the Città Metropolitana of Bologna and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), this year provides 59 hikes everyone can join, all the year round. Their main feature: the starting point can be reached by public means of transport, thanks to the support of Trenitalia and Tper (Transfer for Emilia-Romagna). The trekking will aim at the beautiful landscapes of the Tuscan Emilian Apennine, among old hamlets, high routes, commemoration sites, historic railways, natural parks, points of geologic and archaeologic interest, as well as some treasures in the hills and lowlands, to discover and rediscover by feet or by bike.
For the year 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage, Trekking by Train will lead you to the discovery of tangling landscape, culture and memory of the Bolognese territory. A heritage to be explored by feet, to be crossed step by step, while listening to the stories told by the CAI guides and the testimonies met by the way.
